Balancing the Scales: Reducing Risk & Amplifying Protective Factors in Diverse Montana Communities
This year’s conference is dedicated to navigating the complex landscape of suicide prevention for minoritized communities within the Rocky Mountain West. Our goal is to address the specific challenges and systemic barriers faced by Montana’s diverse populations through collaborative dialogue and evidence-based action. We are particularly interested in proposals that fall under the following categories:
- Reducing Risk through a Clinical Lens: Focusing on the "Reducing Risk" side of the scale through professional excellence in direct patient care. We invite presentations that showcase rigorous, evidence-based methodology and therapeutic practices designed to stabilize individuals in crisis and provide culturally competent care within the unique clinical landscape of the Rocky Mountain West.
- Amplifying Protective Factors through a Community Lens: Emphasizing the "Amplifying Protective Factors" side of the scale. We are seeking presentations that look beyond the exam room to the community, the home, and the legislative halls. These sessions focus on the systemic, social, and personal networks that build resilience and create a safety net for all Montanans.
The COSP Planning Committee will consider all submissions received, but may not be able to accommodate all prospective parties in our schedule or lineup based on a number of different factors.
We reserve the right to group or schedule presenters based on the similarity of topics for the purposes of efficiency and presentation quality.
